Business Systems Project Manager,
Part-Time Temporary

The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for driving multiple projects to fruition including planning, budgeting, and documentation. This part-time temporary position will provide oversight and coordination across two major projects to ensure that outcomes and goals are met on-time and within budget. Reporting to the Director of Business Systems, the Project Manager will work closely with Whitney stakeholder groups to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of solutions deployed in support of business goals and objectives. These cross-functional project teams will include personnel from various groups within the Museum and outside vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, define and execute on project plans, schedules, and deliverables
  • Manage clear expectations and ensure projects stay on scope and in budget
  • Coordination of Whitney stakeholders and third party vendor(s)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Delegate and manage tasks for internal and external teams
  • Provide status updates, insights, conclusions, escalations and error resolution
  • Develop and execute QA/testing plan

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Project Management Professional Certification a plus
  • Three to five years project management experience; non-profit experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to perform and document analysis of complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making
  • Proven ability to successfully manage conflict, proven team leadership and meeting facilitation skills
  • Risk mitigation, resolve client issues and manage client/vendor expectations
