Online Ticket Sales

General Admission tickets may be purchased online up to two months in advance. Tickets may be purchased online until the museum opens that day. Tickets for select Public Programs are also available online.

 

 

Online Ticketing Policies and Fees

Online ticket purchases are non-transferable and non-refundable. A $2 processing fee is added to each ticket purchased online. There is no processing fee to reserve space for free Public Programs but a general admission ticket is required for programs that happen during regular museum hours. Advance tickets may be purchased without processing fees at the Museum admissions desk. Online tickets are processed by OvationTix.

Friday nights from 6–9 pm is pay-what-you-wish admission, available in person only. Tickets purchased online for Friday admission are at full price but allow the ticket holder to bypass the regular admission line.

All online ticket holders must bring valid identification and present it at the Express Admission desk in the lobby. Seniors and students must have valid identification in order to receive admission tickets at the discounted price.

The Whitney offers free admission for members, New York City public school students with valid ID, and children under 12. These tickets are only available in person at the Museum admissions desk.

All online general admission tickets entitle guests to arrive at any time during that day’s operating hours and to visit all of the museum's galleries. All ticket holders for public programs should please make every effort to arrive by the posted start time of the event; otherwise we cannot guarantee available seating.
