Floor 3, Susan and John Hess Family Gallery and Theater
mecca vazie andrews and the MOVEMENT movement present an immersive performance in dialogue with the work of Laura Owens.
Swimming through a collage of past events, [title] combines movement, sound, and projection to re-appropriate what once was with abandon. In doing so, andrews re-imagines another possible future. As we collectively process and redefine the meaning of freedom, the artist invites participants to confront a new cycle of enlightenment fueled by necessary cultural friction, re-education, and evolution.
The running time is approximately 50 minutes.
