Whitney Signs:
Glenn Ligon: AMERICA

SAT, May 7, 2011
3 pm

Whitney Signs is a free American Sign Language gallery tour with voice interpretation. Join us this month for a tour of Glenn Ligon: AMERICA at 4 pm, with a free pre-tour reception from 3–4 pm.

Glenn Ligon: AMERICA is the first comprehensive mid-career retrospective devoted to this pioneering New York–based artist. Throughout his career, Ligon (b. 1960) has pursued an incisive exploration of American history, literature, and society across a body of work that builds critically on the legacies of modern painting and more recent conceptual art.

Please note: we regret that complimentary tickets will no longer be available for ASL students. Museum staff/interpreters will not be able to sign student assignments.

Admission to tour and reception is free. Registration is required; RSVP to asl_tours@whitney.org. Tickets may be picked up in the Museum lobby.

The Museum building is accessible and has elevator access to all floors. Service animals are welcome. Learn more about access services and amenities.
