Introduction
Deal settled in Los Angeles, California in 1976. According to GEH, Deal was the director of exhibitions at the International Museum of Photography at George Eastman House, Rochester, New York from 1974-1975; Contemporary Photographers give dates as 1975-1976. He helped conceptualize and was included in the influential exhibition "New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape" at George Eastman House in 1975.
