Contemporaries Studio Night: Toyin Ojih Odutola

Mon, Jan 29, 2018
7–9 pm

Floor 1

Contemporaries and Contemporaries Patrons

Join artist and educator Mark Joshua Epstein for an evening of drinks and hands-on artmaking inspired by the exhibition Toyin Ojih Odutola: To Wander Determined. Create works in response to the life-size intimate drawings of Ojih Odutola that are rendered in charcoal, pastel, and pencil and tell the story of two fictional Nigerian aristocratic families. Highly attentive to detail and the nuances of space, class, and color—whether of palette or skin—the artist continues her examinations of narrative, authenticity, and representation.
